We currently offer lessons on all orchestral instruments, including orchestral percussion, double bass, harp, saxophone, piano, voice (classical and pop) and guitar. Students are also encouraged to perform in lunchtime concerts, assemblies and are given the opportunity to undertake ABRSM exams.
Music lessons are taught individually in half-hour sessions and our instrumental teachers aim to teach each student approximately 10 lessons each term.
It is very likely that lessons will conflict with timetabled classes. To minimise the impact music lessons will move back by half an hour each week so that the same classes are not missed regularly. It is important to remember that if your child forgets their music lesson appointment then they will be charged for the lesson. Most of our students are able to manage this arrangement without issue. We ask parents to support by helping your child in organizing themselves for lessons. Tutors also support the program by confirming lesson times at the start of each term with the students. It is however, the student’s responsibility to organise themselves week to week. In the case of ongoing absences, parents will be contacted.
Students in years 10-13 will have a fixed lesson time outside of the timetable.
If you wish to stop lessons, please inform us 2 weeks before the end of each term or half term. We cannot stop lessons between the holidays as this causes disruption to the program.
Your child's instrument should be brought with them to NLCS Jeju along with a good supply of spare strings and reeds etc. Please email Ms Boeun Kim (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any further questions about our instrumental teaching program.
