We offer a broad curriculum, rooted in traditional academic disciplines. Our students develop a profound understanding of the subjects they study by engaging with the thinking that lies at the heart of each discipline. Students are challenged in every lesson to develop their ideas and to push their thinking further. Challenging content is a hallmark of an NLCS Jeju lesson and our teachers are experts at making it accessible without compromising academic rigour.
Students at NLCS Jeju develop academic confidence as they master the skills of research and feel confident in their growing knowledge and understanding. Our outstanding library sits at the center of the school and at the heart of the curriculum. There is superb IT provision in both the school buildings and in the Boarding Houses. Our responsive English as a Second Language (ESL) programme offers both in-class support, extra ESL classes and works with all teachers to ensure that students can study confidently in English.
In Years 10 and 11, students are prepared for IGCSEs. The IGCSE qualification is currently taken in 157 countries globally and is recognised by academic institutions and employers around the world. Our Sixth Form students are offered the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma. With its emphasis on developing inquiring, internationally-minded, caring young people, the IB philosophy is closely aligned with the aims of NLCS Jeju. The rigour and breadth provided by the programme and the critical thinking and research skills it develops, mean that it is recognised by universities around the world.
